Barry Irvin Claycomb, 74, of Alum Bank, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 9, 2023.

He was born on May 19, 1949; son of the late Arthur S. and Alverta R. (Wolford) Claycomb.

He married Virginia (Miller) Claycomb on January 11, 1971.

He is preceded in death by his parents; 2 grandchildren, Nicole E. Knisely and Erin N. Claycomb; 9 siblings, Anna, Francis, Betty, Pearl, Ernest, Arthur, Vernon, Donald, and Wayne.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia; 4 children, Amy L. Lamburn, wife of Tony; Barry I. Claycomb Jr., husband of Tina (Hinson); Rebecca S. Knisely, wife of James; Katlyn M. Claycomb at home; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Wanda Burke and Phyllis Putt; and long-time friend Rickie Wright.

Barry attended Chestnut Ridge High School and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War in 1968-1970 and had an honorable discharge. He owned Barry Claycomb Construction for 33 years and worked with his son until 2022.

Barry was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and pappal.

Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, June 14 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 15 at 10 a.m. with Keith Fleelge officiating at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home.

Interment will be held at the Mt. Union Cemetery in Lovely.

Military Rites accorded by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.
