Andrew (Andy) Horvath, 88, of Alum Bank, passed away on December 15, 2017 at home.
He was born on March 19, 1929, in Scalp Level, Pa; son of the late John and Anne (Martin) Horvath.
On February 14, 2005 he married Thelma (Fleegle) Horvath.
He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Joan Wise; brothers, Michael, Steve, John, Sam, Joseph (Yux); sisters, Mary and Irene; and step-daughter Bonnie Webb.
He is survived by his second wife Thelma; daughter, Sandra and husband David Denno of Minnesota; sons, Philip and wife Vicky Horvath of Michigan; Paul and wife Lisa Horvath of Michigan; Step-sons, Raymond and wife Sharon Webb of New Paris; Rodney and wife Gina Webb of Wyoming; grandchildren, Andrew, Paula, Chelsea, Stephanie, Louisa, Felicia, Lindsey, Alan, Mackenzie, and Schaffer; great-grandchildren, Henry, Penny, Winston, Willa, Mahalia, Jude, Clancey, and Hazel; step-grandchildren, Alisha and Haley; brother, Louie Horvath of Michigan; sisters, Betty McAndrews of Scalp Level; Anna Mae Webb of Fishertown; Mary Jane Carson of Alum Bank; Lilian Webb of Alum Bank.
Andrew attended the First Congregational Church of Rockwood and Dunnings Creek Church of the Brethren. Andy was born and raised in Scalp Level. He served in the U.S. Army. He moved to Michigan after marrying Joan, he lived in Rockwood MI for 43 years. In 2005 he married Thelma and moved to Alum Bank. He enjoyed building and fixing things, playing pinochle, spending time with family and fishing for walleyes.
Friends and family will be received on Sunday, Dec. 17, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Dunnings Creek Church of the Brethren. The funeral service will be held Monday, Dec. 18, at 11 a.m. at the Dunnings Creek Church of the Brethren.
Interment at the Michigan Memorial Cemetery.
