Patrick R. Buck
Alum Bank
Patrick R. Buck, age 70 of Alum Bank died Tuesday, January 15, 2019 after a long battle with cancer.
He was the son of Patrick J. and Louise (Miller) Buck, both of whom preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife Joan and 3 children, Chris, husband of Meredith (Lutz) of York Haven; Kimberly, wife of Brian Kappeler of Pittsburgh; and Tracey, wife of Bryan Inglish of Clear Spring, Md; and 5 grandchildren, Lucas Buck, Cole Kappeler, Brody Kappeler, Grace Inglish, and Levi Inglish.
Pat was a lifetime member of the St. James Lutheran Church and a 1966 graduate of Chestnut Ridge High School. He attended a computer school in Pittsburgh after graduation then was inducted into the U.S. Army where he served in Aschaffenburg, Germany from 1968 till 1971. He worked as a fleet mechanic his entire life, retiring from Pepsi Cola in 2011.
Pat enjoyed living on his farm, farming, and the self sufficiency it provided him. But his true passion was always drag racing and performance cars, which he pursued his entire life. He will surely be missed by his family and close neighbors, along with the many friends he had all across the country.
A remembrance gathering will be held at the J. Edward Blackburn funeral home on Friday, Jan. 18 from 4 p.m. until the hour of the memorial service at 7 p.m. with Rev. David Wright officiating.
Internment will be on his family plot in the Pleasantville Cemetery at a later date.
