Alton C. (Butch) Miller Sr., 78, passed away September 6, 2019 at Conemaugh Hospital.

He was born on December 2, 1940 near Helixville in a log house with no electric or running water. A humble beginning but with lots of love. He was the son of the late Chester B. Miller and Elizabeth V. (Rogers) Miller.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Shelby.

He is survived by his wife Marlene R. (Woodring) Miller; two sons, Alton C. Miller Jr. of Bedford; Scott H. Miller of Osterburg; grandson, Ryan S. Miller  and great- granddaughter Ryleigh J. Miller.

Butch attended Chestnut Ridge High School. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Macon and U.S.S. Galveston during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the American Legion, Pastmaster Bedford Lodge 320 F & AM 1990. Butch was employed for 32 years at Westinghouse, Bedford Materials, and J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home in Alum Bank. He loved to hunt, play steel guitar and enjoyed playing golf. He was an avid Penn State Football fan. But most of all he loved his family, Church, and friends.

Everyone is welcome to attend a Celebration of Life service that will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday September 14, with Military Rites and a Masonic service being held before 11 a.m. all at the Alum Bank United Methodist Church with Pastor Shane Siciliano officiating.

Military Rites accorded by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.
