Charles Marlen Imler, 81, of Bedford, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at home.
He was born on September 23, 1942, in New Paris; son of the late Samuel I. and Mary V. (Feathers) Imler.
Charles was born in New Paris and grew up in Queen. On March 4, 1968, he married the love of his life Frances Louise (Cornman), who survives him along with six children; Patricia Campbell of Buffalo Mills; Louise married to Tim Painter of Bedford; Charles Imler Jr., married to Patty of Fishertown; Robert Imler of Bedford; Brenda married to Chris Willard of Bedford; and Richard Imler of Osterburg; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; three siblings, Samuel “Junior”, William, married to Roxanne, and Terry Imler; brother-in-law, Robert Cornman; two sister-in-laws, Bonnie married to Dave Vuckovich, and Donna, married to Jim Shaw; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ronald and Donald Imler; and sister, Darlene Clayton.
Charles enjoyed listening to old country music on the radio. He took a lot of pride in his 1955 Dodge Royal Lancer. He really enjoyed drinking coffee, especially if his brother “Junior” was along, as they would like to get coffee together. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother and will be missed immensely.
Friends and family will be received on Saturday, April 13, from 9 a.m. until the hour of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Pleasantville Cemetery.
